Position Overview
Reporting to the Program Team Manager and rTMS Psychiatry Lead, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Technician - Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is responsible for: performing TMS treatments with participants, scheduling and booking future treatments, running computerized testing, assisting with EEG set-up, research/quality improvement initiatives, and other related duties as assigned.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a research related field is preferred.
Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience, as deemed recognized by the Employer, may be considered in lieu of the above.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Successful completion of post-secondary training (University degree/College diploma) in a science-related field is required.
- SPECIAL TRAINING/SKILLS:
- Additional training in research or the sciences is preferred.
- rTMS training will be provided, but previous rTMS experience is desirable.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, database, word processing, PowerPoint and internet software applications.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Good spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination for alignment of TMS coil.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact well with others.
- Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
- Mature and professional manner.
- Strict attention to detail.
