Position Overview
Under the direction of the Program Support Manager, Nutrition Services, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Diet Office Supervisor is responsible for: ensuring a high quality of service and accuracy through efficient operation and planning of work; supervision of Diet Office area; maintenance of CBORD and related information systems in the area; procurement of specific office related products; management of clinical and regular diets; training and evaluation of all employees in the Diet Office; participation in quality management programs; maintenance of statistical information and supportive tasks relating to Nutrition Services and Food Services operations; and performing other related duties as required.
Experience
- Two (2) years’ experience within the last four (4) years working directly with clinical diets in a diet office.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Grade 12 or recognized equivalent.
- Successful completion of a recognized Food Service Supervisor's Program or recognized equivalent.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Membership with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management is preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of common software including word processing, email and database applications.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet applications is preferred.
- Experience working with a Diet Office software application is required. Experience with CBORD is preferred.
- Ability to supervise and direct in a team environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven organizational skills.
- Mature, professional manner.
