Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the CLINICAL NURSING DIRECTOR, OR THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, NURSING EDUCATION, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the CONTINUING EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR is responsible for: acting as a clinical educational resource for nursing unit personnel; facilitating the learning process and evaluating learning outcome; planning, coordinating, and in conjunction with the Nursing Director, evaluating unit specific orientation programs; participating in educational activities within the specific Department, the Patient Care Portfolio, and throughout the Hospital; and performing other related duties as required/assigned.
Experience
- Minimum two (2) years recent Cardiac experience required.
- Experience in educational program planning an asset.
- Demonstrated teaching experience preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Bachelor of Nursing Degree required.
- Advanced Assessment Course required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Current CRNM registration required.
- Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
- Successful completion of the BLS Instructor Certificate will be obtained at a time scheduled by the employer or at a time mutually agreed upon between the nurse and the employer required.
