Salary: $26.098, $26.869, $27.659, $28.477, $29.318, $30.185 

 

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager, the incumbent:

  • Organizes and coordinates the work flow to eliminate production problems.
  • Ensures efficient utilization of all resources.
  • Provides direction to front line staff.
  • Conducts Quality Assurance audits and inspections.

Experience

  • Two years current Medical Device Reprocessing experience required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Complete Grade 12 education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Training in supervisory skills an asset.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must have a complete knowledge of the required legal and quality documentation; a complete and thorough understanding of aseptic technique and all the various stages involved with processing medical devices; a complete and thorough understanding of the function of sterilizing equipment, washer/decontaminators, pasteurizers, sterile drying cabinets and heat sealers; proven ability to give small presentations and train staff; and a demonstrated ability to remain technically current in the field.
  • Typing speed 40 wpm.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with proficiency in Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide direction to others.
  • Must be self-motivated, with a strong aptitude for customer service.
  • Must possess good analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a highly stressful environment and be able to work independently.
  • Must be fluent in written and oral English.
  • Must be capable of applying knowledge to make decisions independently.
  • A proven orientation toward quality production is required.
  • Must be able to delegate responsibilities fairly and appropriately.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.

Physical Requirements

  • Periods of continuous walking and standing.
  • Moderate amount of hand, arm, and shoulder movement.
  • Work involves exposure to infectious blood and body fluids, Ethylene Oxide and WHMIS products.
  • Work involves tight time frames.
