Position Overview

The Pan Am Clinic is currently seeking a Laundry/Waste Disposal Aide. Reporting to the Manager, Surgery & MDR, the incumbent is responsible for providing laundry and waste disposal duties in a team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processing of laundry (washing, drying, folding, etc.).
  • Operation of residential and commercial washer and dryers.
  • Adhering to Quality Assurance and Policies and Procedures.
  • Handling and transporting of laundry throughout the clinic.
  • Maintenance of inventory.
  • Interaction with clinic personnel ensuring supply issues.

  • Completion of a high school or equivalent program of studies required (Manitoba Standards).

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be able to function effectively in a stressful environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Seamstress skills would be an asset.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Subject to Immunization and Tuberculin Testing as per WRHA policy.

 

 

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
