Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Patient Food Services or Designate, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Diet Technician, Patient Food Services is responsible for: the preparation and delivery of infant feedings and adult enteral feedings. Preparation technique must adhere to all sanitary regulations and standards established by regulating agencies and the St. Boniface Hospital. Performing additional related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Experience

  • Two (2) years’ experience preferred.
  • Experience with CBORD Diet Office Management software system is an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Successful completion of a recognized Dietetic Technician program (or equivalent, e.g. Bachelor of Science degree, Human Nutritional Sciences) required.
  • Experience with CBORD Diet Office Management software system is an asset.
  • Valid Food Handler Training Certificate required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must have basic knowledge of nutrition and therapeutic nutrition interventions.
  • Proficiency in the use of common software application, preferably the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, effective organizational skills, independent work practices, initiative, flexibility and critical analysis skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with various levels of internal and external contacts.
