Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Education Manager, and in collaboration with the other members of Educational Resources, other site program educators, other hospital educators and/or stakeholders, the incumbent is responsible for: Educational program development for: Nursing staff, Allied health staff (where appropriate), Support staff including HCAs, HUCs, applicable technicians, and general hospital staff. Teaching and learning activities. Nursing practice standards. Patient education development. Professional and self-development.

Experience

  • Must have a minimum of four years recent related nursing experience with demonstrated competency in a defined area of clinical nursing practice.
  • Previous experience in teaching, education and program development and evaluation is preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing is preferred (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
  • Certificate or certification in a related specialty area preferred.
  • Competency with word processing and presentation programs required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Manitoba (C.R.N.M.).
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.

Physical Requirements

  • Hours of work are flexible and may include evening, night or weekend shifts as required.
