Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

Provide training, quality management systems and operational oversight to Shared Health Diagnostic Services POCT programs.

Experience

  • Minimum three years recent related work experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience an asset.
  • Training and/or teaching experience preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • A suitably qualified health care professional with the appropriate professional, scientific and educational qualifications to verify and maintain the day to day quality of POCT; an extensive knowledge of laboratory medicine is required.
  • Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology program or Radiology Technology program is preferred.
  • Advanced academic achievement (e.g. A.R.T. or B.Sc.) preferred.
  • Relevant courses or seminars preferred.
  • A suitable combination of training and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Current certification or registration with licensing body is preferred (CMLTM or CAMRT for Instance).
  • Demonstrated competency is required for all POCT equipment, test kits and tasks relevant to the POCT portfolio being overseen.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of Shared Health Quality Management System:
    • POCT Accreditation requirements and standards.
    • Windows computer environment required.
    • Microsoft Office programs required.
  • Workplace Health and Safety Program or training preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and oral.
  • Ability to mentor and teach adult learners.
  • Knowledge related to quality management principles and quality assurance.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to promote teamwork, collaboration and partnership.
  • Is creative, innovative, enthusiastic, and respected.
  • Ability to identify and prioritize options as potential solutions to problems and issues.
  • Apply technical knowledge to interpretation of results, troubleshooting, and assessing of methods.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Follow oral and written instructions precisely with attention to detail.
  • Proficient analytical skills.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Maintains confidentiality with all information entrusted to the position.
  • Ability to perform duties as described.
