Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, the Drug Distribution & Digital Health Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the planning and management of patient-centered pharmaceutical care services & Digital Health support regionally including LTC Winkler Pharmacy and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Ability to communicate with all levels of staff including physicians, nurses and other professional personnel in a multidisciplinary health care setting as well as with all classifications of pharmacy personnel. Demonstrated poise and aptitude for communicating professional information and the ability to deal appropriately with matters of an urgent nature.

As a member of the Department’s Leadership Team, the incumbent will collaborate with site Pharmacist to ensures that pharmaceutical care services are aligned with strategic priorities and meet high standards of quality and patient safety. The incumbent will exercise the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

 

Qualifications:

  • CCAPP Accredited Pharmacy Technician Certificate OR the program prescribed by the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba for candidates who successfully complete a non-CCAPP Accredited Pharmacy Technician Certificate
  • License or eligible to license to practice as a Pharmacy technician in Manitoba, is preferred
  • Pharmacy Assistant course from a recognize institute
  • Knowledge of information systems technology and software
  • Knowledge of current pharmacy computer systems and software
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Contributes to making the organization safe for patients, residents, clients and staff, and recognizes the importance of reporting unsafe situations and participating in follow up reviews as a learning opportunity • Pursuant to the Service Delivery Organization, Southern Health-Santé Sud is designated bilingual (English/French). Accordingly, all employees accept responsibility to support clients in their official language of choice
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician OR Pharmacy Assistant
  • Previous hospital experience is preferred • Previous management experience is preferred
  • Completion of a hospital residency program is preferable
  • Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to communicate in more than one language would be considered an asset
  • Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
  • Good work and attendance record

 

Conditions of Employment:

  • Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate.
  • All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy.
  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00
