Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for preparing and cooking meals for clients.
Cooks will work as members of the team and demonstrate the following:

- The ability to balance his/her needs with the needs of clients, other staff persons, and those of the organization.

Experience
- Good knowledge and experience with the principles of quantity cooking especially for vegetables, meat, fish, poultry, baked goods.
- Good knowledge and experience with food service sanitation standards, kitchen safety, and personal hygiene.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Completion of a recognized cooking course at the technical or community college level.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Valid CPR and First Aid is an asset.
- Food Handlers Certificate required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Good communication skills to work in a therapeutic environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrates the ability to operate Microsoft software applications, internet and email communications.
- The incumbent must have the ability to deal effectively with staff and clients.
- An understanding of, and sensitivity to, working with culturally diverse populations is essential.
- Knowledge of the addictions field is an asset.
- Fluency in English (French verbal and written an asset).
