Position Overview
This position will report directly to Manager of Integrated Health & Social Services. The Medical Clinic Aide is responsible for clerical duties and performing a variety of patient care activities.
Experience
- Previous experience in medical clinic an asset.
- Experience in dealing with the public in a patient care atmosphere.
- Experience in clerical activities a must.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Completion of Grade 12 education.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Current certification from a Medical Clinic Aide program or equivalent experience an asset.
- Current CPR certification desired.
Qualifications and Skills
- Computer skills an asset.
- Ability to speak and/or write Cree or Dene an asset.
- Must be pleasant, courteous and able to deal with a variety of people.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to utilize these skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and competence in clinic procedures.
- Ability to create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm professional environment throughout the clinic.
- Office, clerical and typing skills.
- Competing priorities.
- Maintaining high level of confidentiality.
Physical Requirements

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
