Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the incumbent is responsible for filling orders from requisitions, stocking shelves, replenishing stock and performing inventory counts as required.

Experience

  • Previous warehouse experience required.  
  • Experience operating electric forklifts and/or highstacker required and the ability to stock/unstock racking up to 22 feet high up to 4000 lbs.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Minimum Grade 12 Manitoba Standards required.


SPECIAL TRAINING:

  • Must complete and maintain recognized Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training.  
  • On the-job-training provided on the Warehouse Inventory Management system.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Must possess a current certificate from a recognized training facility or equivalent certificate for the Forklift and Low Lift Pallet Mover.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing is required.  
  • Demonstrated customer service skills essential.  
  • Knowledge of the Health Sciences Centre (HSC) complex is an asset.  
  • As a custodian of the Health Sciences Centre’s inventory, it is critical that the individual bring with them the quality of honesty and integrity.

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires considerable standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, stretching, pushing and pulling. Pushing and pulling cartloads/pallets of supplies that may weigh up to 2,100 lbs. is required.
  • May be required to work in cramped and/or high conditions when carrying items over obstacles and twisting motions are necessary.
  • Required to operate equipment to load and unload pallets of supplies from the racking units, reaching a maximum height of 22 feet.
  • Required to handle hazardous/dangerous goods in accordance with WHMIS regulations.
