Position Overview

Under the direction of the Director, Human Resources, this position is responsible for the recruitment, scheduling, placement, evaluation and recognition of volunteers, assisting in programs at Misericordia Health Centre and Misericordia Place Personal Care Home, as well as the day to day operation of the Volunteer Services Department.

Experience

  • Three (3) years’ experience in a volunteer management capacity.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment and a gift shop is an asset.
  • Previous experience coordinating volunteers required. 
  • Office administrative experience or a combination of education and related experience an asset.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint as well as volunteer management software/applications.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Certificate in Volunteer Management or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Membership in the Volunteer Management Professional of Canada (VMPC).

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
