The Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre is a not-for-profit, government-funded facility that honours Jewish values and traditions while welcoming seniors of all backgrounds.

We are currently seeking an experienced, dynamic multi-tasker with a positive upbeat attitude for a people-oriented part time (0.7 EFT) Volunteer, Companion & Visitor Coordinator position.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

EDUCATION

  • Certificate/Diploma in Volunteer Administration, Recreation Facilitator or equivalent education

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous supervisory experience working with Volunteers
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Volunteer Leadership and Management in a health care setting including recruitment and retention, performance management, volunteer recognition and delegation of tasks  
  • Demonstrated above average written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills in dealing with complex individual and organization relations
  • Ability to evaluate, plan, manage and schedule as necessary
  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations and education for both adults and youths
  • Demonstrates independent and collaborative decision making skills and the ability to prioritize and respond to a variety of simultaneous demands
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Photoshop and Social Media/ Apps required

 

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of Jewish cultures and traditions is an asset
  • Experience working in a long term care setting is an asset

 

OTHER

  • Regular daytime hours may be flexible with occasional evening or weekend shifts
