Prairie Crocus Manor is recruiting an enthusiastic, energetic, and creative person with a passion for working with diverse groups of Resident for 0.5 EFT part time Therapeutic Recreation Aide.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a Recreation Facilitator for Older Adults program from an accredited school or Bachelor Degree in Recreation Studies from a recognized University is required.
- Therapeutic recreation facilitator is responsible to providing therapeutic-based interventions and programing with goal of enhancing the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, intellectual and spiritual needs of our Residents. Through the movement, games, crafts, music, pet therapy or exercise, the therapeutic recreation therapist provides a fun and interactive environment for our Residents.
- A genuine interest to work with Elders
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative and innovative programs
- Previous geriatric experience required, facilitation experience is an asset
- Good computer skills, familiarity with MDS is an asset
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Excellent organization, planning, time management, and multi-tasking skills
- Mental and physical health to meet the demands of the position
Preferred Qualification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with elders in a health care facility
- Recent experience in Therapeutic Recreation and/or other recreation program delivery
