Position Overview
Under the direction of the Manager, Support Services, the Support Services Supervisor is responsible for the coordination, provision and supervision of the daily Nutrition/Housekeeping Services. Operations include: participating in screening and interviewing of applicants, orientation, training, scheduling, monitoring of work performance, and providing feedback into staff performance appraisals. The Supervisor is responsible for the monitoring, recording and auditing of quality improvement activities, ensuring the quality and the quantity of work performed is in accordance with established patient nutrition /housekeeping services standards, regulations and policies. Under the direction of the Manager, Support Services and in accordance with the Clinical Dietitians, the Support Services Supervisor is responsible for the provision of optimal nutrition care to patients and residents.
Experience
- Two (2) years of food service/housekeeping experience.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience in a computerized environment with a proven ability to work with the following applications: Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook, and use of the internet.
- Experience working with Diet office software (CBORD), scheduling (ESP), room booking software (EMS) and SAP software preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Completion of Grade 12 education, Manitoba Standards.
- Successful completion of a formal Food Service Supervisory/Diet Technician program and/or management program from a recognized community college/university or an equivalent combination of related training/education and experience.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Food Handling Certificate Level 1.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to express ideas and thoughts clearly in English, both verbally and in written format.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
