Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

In a collaborative environment, under the general direction of the Manager, Supply Chain and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital the SUPERVISOR, PURCHASING, PRINT CENTER, GRAPHIC DESIGN & AUDIO-VISUAL SERVICES is responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of all processes related to Purchasing, Contracting, Printing, Graphic Design and Audio-Visual Services. This includes managing the physical, financial and human resources involved in maintaining the integrity of the purchasing, contracting, printing, graphic design and audio-visual functions within the supply chain and in collaboration with WRHA Logistics Services.  Management practices must be in accordance with the Hospitals management values and operating standards; participating on appropriate Hospital-wide and external committees and in professional associations and performing other related duties as required.

Experience

  • Previous experience in Purchasing and Contracting within complex service organizations with diverse internal customers.
  • Three (3) years supervisory/management experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Successful demonstration of strong communication abilities, conflict resolution skills, and change management.
  • Experience working within a printing environment would be a definite asset.

 

Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience, as deemed recognized by the Hospital, may be considered in lieu of the above.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration from a recognized institution.

 

SPECIAL TRAINING/SKILLS:

  • Successful completion of Level 3 of the Purchasing Management Associations Certified Professional Purchasing Program (CPP).
  • A sound knowledge of contract law as it applies to competitive bidding.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of various current and related software including spreadsheet, word processing, email and database applications.
  • Working knowledge of Crystal Report Writer would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of and experience in using Purchasing software and EDI.
