Position Overview

The Centralized Scheduling Supervisor (CSS) is a member of the Home Care Centralized Scheduling Office (HCCSO) with Home Care Scheduling expertise reporting to the Manager Health Services. The CSS will supervise Scheduling Clerks ensuring service delivery to Home Care clients is assigned efficiently within Program standards. The CSS provides day-to-day functional oversight of the Scheduling Clerks ensuring service benchmarks are met. The CSS will provide mentorship to new and existing Scheduling Clerks. The CSS works collaboratively with the larger Home Care team including Case Coordinators, Resource Coordinators, Scheduling Clerks, Direct Service staff, Managers Health Services and Program Support teams. The CSS will work closely with the Manager Health Services of the HCCSO, Business Analyst, and Program Support staff to monitor that service benchmarks are met, data integrity is maintained, and daily work tasks of the HCCSO are completed. The incumbent is part of a team that ensures efficient and effective delivery of services to all home care clients and as such, is expected to facilitate continuous quality improvement within the Scheduling Clerk teams.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in scheduling required, preferably in a Home Care services environment.
  • Previous experience supervising staff, preferably in a unionized environment is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining data integrity within electronic systems.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Recognized post-secondary certificate and/or diploma in health or social services or human resources required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High proficiency in an electronic Home Care record and Home Care scheduling practices required.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate development and implementation of business processes and policies.
  • Advanced competency in Windows-based computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills desired.
  • Exceptional organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize a large complex workload to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Knowledge and understanding of cultural diversity as it relates to clients and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a team member, work collaboratively across sectors, and be an active participant in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Understanding of collective agreements and application to Home Care scheduling.

 

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
