POP-UP MARKET WORKER
Paid Term Position - 35 hours/week for 8 weeks
Department: Community Development
Position: Summer Student
Anticipated Shift: Weekdays and weekends (varies)
Responsible To: Community Development Coordinator
Length of Contract: 8 weeks
Salary: $15.80/hour
The summer pop-up market worker will develop and deliver the pop-up market program for the Inkster community. They will be responsible for all outreach and organization pertaining to the role. This includes: connecting with vendors, outreach, social media marketing, set up, and ensuring permits are in place. They will help identify community needs and incorporate it in all programming.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma would be preferred
- Funding through Canada Summer Jobs stipulates applicants are required to be between 15 and 30 years of age
- Experience working with community and planning an asset
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team in a variety of settings
- Experience with social media
- Valid driver’s license required
- Able to lift heavy objects
- Weekends required
