Length of Contract: 8 weeks
Salary: $16/hour
EFT/Status: 0.6 EFT (part-time)
Summary of Job Description
The Summer Education and Day Camp Activity Programmer will plan and run a day camp for children ages 6–12. The program will help prevent learning loss and build skills in literacy, numeracy, science, art, and health through fun and engaging activities. The Programmer will work with a team to develop the curriculum and will also help children build social skills, friendships, and resilience. The program will be supported by the NorWest Co-op Community Health Centre Resource Centre teams.
Employment is subject to eligibility under the Manitoba Green Team Program, including confirmation that the applicant is between 15–29 years of age, legally entitled to work in Canada, and possesses a valid Social Insurance Number.
Qualifications
- High school diploma would be preferred.
- Experience working with youth.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Empathetic, non-judgmental approach.
- Knowledge and experience with diverse cultures and economic backgrounds.
- Experience in recreation or nutrition is an asset.
- Experience or knowledge of program development and education.
- Experience with program delivery, especially with youth programming.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is an asset.
