Spiritual Care Provider

City: Winnipeg

Anticipated Shift: Wednesday and Thursday on week 1, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday on week 2, some weekends may be required for special events. 

Daily Hours Worked: 8:00 AM - 4:15 PM  

Annual Base Hours: 2015  

 

 

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Assists the Coordinator of Spiritual Care in meeting the spiritual needs of the residents Holy Family Home.

The position will promote the Mission of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate by supporting the care values regarding the provision of quality care, loving environment, Christian ideals and principles, respect for life and dignity of person, and preservation of our traditional ethnic customs.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree at a recognized University in a relevant field with courses in Theology.  Master’s Degree related to Spirituality and Health preferred.
  • Minimum of one advanced Clinical Pastoral Education unit (more preferred) or Ministry experience with a willingness to pursue advanced Clinical Pastoral Education.
  • Eligible for Membership in Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC)

EXPERIENCE:

  • Spiritual and religious care experience working with older adults, persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and palliative care.
  • Strong skills in active listening, compassionate presence, grief work, end of life conversations, crisis care, and spiritual leadership
  • Knowledge of the Ukrainian Catholic faith and other interfaith denominations
  • Member in good standing in a church/church conference or religious body
  • Endorsement by denomination for ministry
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially, but not limited to, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Effective oral, written and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Good mental and physical health, as well as good attendance to meet the requirements of the position.

 

ASSETS MAY INCLUDE:

  • Knowledge of the Ukrainian language
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting

RESPONSIBLE TO:

Reports to the Coordinator of Spiritual Care

 

 

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

 

Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated.
