Position Overview

The Regional Laundry Services (RLS) currently holds the inventory and budget for purchase, cleaning and replacement of all linen, servicing all hospitals in Winnipeg and the Interlake Eastern Regional Health Authority, 39 non-hospital healthcare facilities and 8 non-healthcare customers.

On an annual basis 19M kilograms of soiled linen is processed to provide hygienically clean and fresh textiles delivered to sites to be used efficiently, in the right place at the right time for the right usage.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with linen distributions methods, required. Other supply chain distribution experience will be considered.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards.
  • Must have or be able to acquire within a reasonable period of time a working knowledge of CSA standards with respect to linen distribution, storage and transportation.
  • Must have or be able to acquire within a reasonable period of time certification in Linen and Laundry Management.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Valid Manitoba driver's license.
  • Certified Linen and Laundry Manager Designation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency with business software; LinenMaster, SAP, Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency with laundry processes, procedures and linen tracking systems.
  • Must possess an understanding of basic concepts related to inventory management, maintenance of par levels and soiled collection procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to make timely decisions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality and customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to function in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be able to communicate appropriately with all stakeholders in the linen distribution process.
  • Ability to apply creative approaches to problem-solving strategies.

 

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
