Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Manager, Pharmacy, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Senior Pharmacist is responsible for: performing the duties of a Pharmacist; assisting the pharmacy management team with planning, implementing, organizing and supervising pharmacy activities; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a practicing hospital pharmacist.
  • Two (2) years' supervisory experience in a Hospital pharmacy preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy required.
  • Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada Certification is required.
  • Hospital Pharmacy Management Residency preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Licensed with the Manitoba Pharmaceutical Association to practice in Manitoba.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated teaching, precepting and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities, initiative and judgement.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
