Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Regional Pharmacy Manager, the SENIOR PHARMACIST is responsible for: performing the duties of a Pharmacist; assisting the pharmacy management team with planning, implementing, organizing and supervising pharmacy activities; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a practicing hospital pharmacist.
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience in a Hospital pharmacy preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy, or equivalent entry-to-practice pharmacy degree is required.
  • Post-graduate education/training in a relevant field of study and/ or completion of a Pharmacy Residency program is preferred.

 

SPECIAL TRAINING:

  • Demonstrated teaching, precepting and mentoring skills.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the province of Manitoba.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities, initiative and judgement.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of position.
  • May be required to travel to other sites.

 

 

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
