Position Overview

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the Senior consultant, operational Excellence works with the Executive to lead the development and implementation of a management system, including strategy deployment and daily management system, and will also facilitate other change improvement initiatives.  The Senior Consultant provides leadership and builds capacity in continuous improvement, and serves as a coach to leadership engaged in management system development and deployment. The incumbent leads coordination of other improvement coaches and resources, acts as a catalyst for change; and performs other related duties as assigned.     This work will be informed by the quality and safety plan for the WRHA along with other priorities approved by the Executive.

 

This position is responsible for leading the Operational Excellence initiatives at the WHRA. This role facilitates and leads team efforts to identify key improvement opportunities and develops and implements processes, systems and behaviors to sustain and grow continuous improvement culture.

 

The Senior Consultant will act as a coach, consultant, and subject matter expert and will have a key role in driving the cultural and operational transformation efforts. This position supports improvement actions which include reliability, safety, quality and effectiveness.

Experience

  • Five (5) years’ experience working with continuous improvement or other change initiatives required.
  • Proven track record of achieving desired results.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Degree/diploma in a health care discipline, engineering, business or other related field required.
  • Master’s degree in a related field such as Healthcare or Quality Improvement or Business Administration preferred.
  • Formal training in the implementation of organizational change initiatives is preferred. 
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience, as deemed recognized by the WRHA, may be considered.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of common software including spreadsheet, word processing, database, internet and email applications.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical/non-technical staff and with members of inter-professional teams.
  • Ability to interact professionally with various levels of personnel, both internally and externally.

 

Salary is commensurate with education and qualifications
