Experience

  • Experience/knowledge of transcription (Dictaphone) and facsimile equipment required.
  • Experience/knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Completion of Grade 12 required.
  • Graduate of a recognized secretarial/commercial program required.
  • Current proficiency in Medical Terminology required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to effectively type a minimum of 60 wpm required.
  • Knowledge about Home Care service and equipment referral protocols required.
  • Ability to perform the position on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrated initiative, organizational skills and confidentiality required.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and public relation skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write legibly, follow oral and written instructions and work with a minimum of supervision required.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively maintain records and reports required.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
