Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Laboratory Manager or the Laboratory Supervisor, the Secretary 4 is responsible for the effective and efficient provision of secretarial support for the laboratory. Supervision of a Clerk Typist 3 may also be required.
Experience
- A minimum of 3–5 years recent related experience.
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheet and database management programs operating in a Windows environment.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards.
- Successful completion of a recognized secretarial program.
- Medical terminology course.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration

Qualifications and Skills
- Microsoft Office programs.
- Financial reporting systems.
- Typing speed of 60–70 words per minute.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral and written.
- Ability to work with minimal direction.
- Supervisory skills may be required.
- Ability to work from Dictaphone may be required.
