Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Manager Health Services, Transplant Manitoba, Administrative Assistant 4, Transplant Manitoba-Gift of Live and the Medial Director Adult Renal Transplant Program, the candidate will be responsible for the effective, efficient provision of administrative support to the ODO/Living Donor, Adult Renal Transplant Program and Liver/Lung Program.

Experience

  • Two years related experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous experience in the ongoing maintenance of web-based applications required.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
  • Typing 50 wpm.
  • Medical terminology required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) required.
  • Working knowledge of the internet including Web based applications required.
  • Accuro EMR, EPR preferred.
  • Basic mathematical skills required.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively and in a collaborative manner with all levels of staff, Health Sciences Centre (HSC) departments and support services, and various external companies/institutions and agencies.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent interruptions.
  • Contact with patients, staff and public.
