Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Central Support Services (CSS) and the CSS Management Team the incumbent is responsible for providing clerical support to the CSS Manager(s) including processing job postings and related paperwork, registering new hires in orientation sessions, ensuring that the Manager(s) are aware of staffing levels, maintaining unit information and employee profiles in the ESP staff scheduling system, updating the day-to-day schedule changes in ESP and running staffing reports as requested. Coordinates appointment calendars for the Manager(s) and performs other clerical duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum two years previous related experience, preferably in a health care setting. 

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required. 
  • Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program required. 
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Qualifications and Skills

  • ​​​​​​Preference will be given to those candidates with previous staff scheduling experience.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
  • Typing 50 wpm, medical terminology (pass mark 75%) required. 
  • Knowledge of personal computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Environment for Scheduling Personnel (ESP) or other service-based staff scheduling systems preferred. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and decision-making skills required.  
  • Must have excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.  

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to function in a high volume, high traffic environment.
