Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging, and the supervision of the Diagnostic Services Assistant, the incumbent performs a variety of tasks relating to the clerical support function of the Diagnostic Services Office.
Experience
- A minimum of 1 year experience in a Diagnostic Services Department or as a hospital unit clerk is required.
- Experience with windows based Radiology Information System (RIS) and scheduling modules is required.
- Experience with various types of filing systems is preferred.
- Through knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging procedures and patient preparation is required.
- Previous experience in scheduling Diagnostic Imaging procedures is required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Grade 12 minimum.
- Completion of a recognized course in Medical Terminology is required.
- Successful completion of a recognized Business College or Medical Secretarial Training program.

Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge or training in general office procedures is required.
- A minimum typing speed of 40 wpm is required.
- Completion of a recognized "window based" computer system is required.
- Excellent knowledge of the English language (grammar, spelling and punctuation).
- Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written).
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
- Must maintain a positive working relationship with patients, general public and co‑workers.
Physical Requirements
- Conditions normally found in a busy clerical support office environment.
- Required to work days only.
- Flexibility in hours between 0730 hours and 1800 hours is required.
- May be required to work occasional weekend and/or statutory holiday shifts.
- Considerable amount of walking, standing, bending and lifting required.
This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
