In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of our departments across the province will require additional staffing to support our staff against COVID-19; while continuing to provide the best possible health care services to Manitobans.

Manitoba recognizes the hard work and dedication of our front-line health care providers and we are looking for additional experienced health care providers to offer support during these unprecedented and challenging times, to help provincial efforts to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19.


Position Overview

• Responsible for the effective and efficient provision of administrative services including staff scheduling and updating the schedule on a daily basis and running staff reports as required.
• Provides administrative support to area of assigned responsibility including but not limited to:

o Typing letters, reports as required.
o Photocopying.
o Faxing.
o Opens, sorts, and prioritizes mail.
o Establishes and maintains complete filing system.
o Answers routine telephone inquiries.

• Under direction of the site Manager, ensures there are appropriate human resources to provide effective patient/resident/client care.
• Augments staffing as required to meet varied needs related to sick calls, staff shortages, shorter term absences, etc.
• Ensures appropriate timekeeping for staff at the site.
• Ensures that payroll is accurately coded, prepared and administered.
• Processes, investigates, and follows up on data and payroll discrepancies pertaining to scheduled hours and corrections, salary information, etc.
• May be required to perform other duties and functions not exceeding above stated skills and capabilities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Typing 50 wpm required.
• Two years administrative experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.
• Experience working with scheduling/payroll systems.
• Experience in payroll coding.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Decision making ability, good judgment, initiative, and the ability to prioritize.
• Demonstrated time management skills, the ability to complete tasks and meet established deadlines required.
