Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Director, Research and Innovation and reporting to the Manager, Research Administration, the Research Agreement Analyst will be responsible for providing contracting expertise for the development, review, negotiation, tracking, execution and closure of research-related contracts, including amendments, for a wide-variety of research-related projects being conducted in Shared Health facilities and/or affiliated programs.

The incumbent’s duties include:

  1. Participates as a team member in the development, review, negotiation, tracking, execution and closure of research-related contract initiatives with various industry and non-industry stakeholders, sponsors, partners and collaborators.
  2. Organizes workload and resources to meet deadlines and contracting requirements.
  3. Maintains effective communications with involved stakeholders that include industry and non-industry research project sponsors and funders, academic institutions research investigators and institutional legal/privacy team representatives on a variety of contractual and service related issues.
  4. Ensures adherence to Shared Health’s contract management policies, procedures and best practices.
  5. Supports continual improvement of processes and outcomes.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in commercial contract administration required.
  • Two years’ experience in research agreement administration preferred.
  • Experience in commercial law and contract drafting preferred.
  • Experience working within a health research or healthcare environment an asset.
  • Knowledge of regulations and laws governing research conduct, such as PHIA, GCP, Health Canada and TCPS an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Post-secondary education, college diploma or certificate in either legal administrative assistance, business, healthcare or research administration is required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Ability to lead individuals and groups into achieving consensus.
  • Ability to function in a team-oriented and collaborative focused environment.
  • Ability to apply creative approaches to problem-solving and contract strategies.
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously with appropriate prioritization while balancing the need for quick turnaround within longer-term strategic efforts.
  • Ability to maintain composure and productivity despite multiple deadlines, frequent interruptions, and distractions and competing priorities.
  • Good working knowledge of business software, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), Acrobat and Virtual Conferencing Software (e.g., MS Teams/Zoom).
  • Willingness to work virtually or in an office setting as required.

  • Proofreading and editing electronic and paper documentation.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard.
