Position Overview

Reporting to the Consolidation Controller, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with performing the consolidation and other financial reporting requirements in order to meet deadlines at all stakeholder levels. Individual will be responsible to review calculations for accuracy and complete reviews in a timely manner.


  • Three years recent computerized accounting and financial reporting experience is required, preferably within a large complex organization (healthcare or equivalent).
  • Experience with financial accounting and reporting under CICA Public Sector Accounting Standards.
  • Experience performing or assisting in performing a consolidation would be an asset.
  • A sound understanding of general accounting procedures and working experience with General Ledger and Financial Statement preparation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computerized accounting systems, as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and financial reporting packages.
  • Experience with SAP would be an asset.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Completion of high school education, Manitoba standards required.
  • Presently enrolled in or completed a recognized Accounting Certificate program (i.e. Red River Business Administration)
  • Preference given to those actively pursuing a CPA (Canada) designation.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written) in the English Language.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize workload, consistently meet deadlines and manage a large volume workload while providing continuous quality service
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and complete work in a concise, clear, accurate and timely manner.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to cope with unexpected interruptions in order to meet changing deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to take initiative and implement efficiencies in processes.
  • Must have the ability to work with large volumes of data and summarize information for various levels of the organization.


This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
