Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
The successful applicant may be eligible for an annual full-time incentive of up to $2,000 each year until 2025 as per MOU #31 of the current MNU collective agreement.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager Health Services, the Nurse is responsible for the delivery of direct client care, the planning, implementation, implementation and evaluation of client treatment plans; the administration and evaluation of medications and health care procedures; the provision of therapeutic clinical interventions and effective milieu management; the establishment of professional working relationships within the multidisciplinary team and community; and community resource identification and utilization. The functions are undertaken consistent with the Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Centre’s established philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures and standards of Professional Practice and Code of Ethics outlined by the CPNAM and MARN professional bodies.
- Provides for the delivery of direct client care.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates client treatment plans.
- Provides therapeutic clinical interventions and effective milieu management.
- Administers and monitors effects of medications and related health care procedures.
- Collaborates with families and community supports to meet client needs.
- Establishes and maintains professional working relationships within the inter-professional team and community.
- Identifies and accesses community resources.
Experience
- Experience in psychiatry is essential.
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health experience preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

Graduate from an approved program in Psychiatric Nursing or Nursing. (B.Sc.P.N., B.Sc. M.H. or B.Sc.N. preferred).
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of active registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) or the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
- Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
- Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)/Registered Psychiatric Nurses Act.
