Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

The Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Service has a Provincial mandate and provides assessment and treatment services to children, adolescents and families. The ADHD Service is comprised of a multidisciplinary team which provides direct treatment and works in collaboration with other systems to maximize child functioning and support to families.

  • Work in a team with psychiatrists, multidisciplinary team members, and community partners to provide assessment and intervention.
  • Provide treatment interventions for children, adolescents, and families.
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with the system supports affiliated with the ADHD community.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience with children e.g. children with ADHD, neurodevelopmental or behavioral disorders.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Graduate from an approved program in Psychiatric Nursing or Nursing (B.Sc.P.N., B.Sc. M.H. or B.Sc.N. preferred).

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of active registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) or the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)/Registered Psychiatric Nurses Act.
  • Must be familiar with psychotropic medications, current behaviour strategies and interventions.

Physical Requirements

  • Possibility of evening work required.
  • Use of a vehicle.
