Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
The Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Service has a Provincial mandate and provides assessment and treatment services to children, adolescents and families. The ADHD Service is comprised of a multidisciplinary team which provides direct treatment and works in collaboration with other systems to maximize child functioning and support to families.
- Work in a team with psychiatrists, multidisciplinary team members, and community partners to provide assessment and intervention.
- Provide treatment interventions for children, adolescents, and families.
- Establish and maintain professional working relationships with the system supports affiliated with the ADHD community.
Experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience with children e.g. children with ADHD, neurodevelopmental or behavioral disorders.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Graduate from an approved program in Psychiatric Nursing or Nursing (B.Sc.P.N., B.Sc. M.H. or B.Sc.N. preferred).
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of active registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) or the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
- Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
- Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)/Registered Psychiatric Nurses Act.
- Must be familiar with psychotropic medications, current behaviour strategies and interventions.
Physical Requirements
- Possibility of evening work required.
- Use of a vehicle.
