Job Summary:
The Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a Registered Clinical Assistant or Physician Assistant for assisting in triaging process of new patient consults received by the Central Referral Office in CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB). Duties include triaging new patient consults. This would include involvement in multiple tasks related to the central referral office enabling full preparation for the patient chart before being booked in the clinic. This position may also be involved in other clinical care activities including new patient consult services taking histories and physicals, involvement in hospitalized patient care mainly at HSC, outpatient follow-up, on treatment clinics, and daily medical management. This position may rotate between CancerCare Manitoba, Health Sciences Centre, St. Boniface General Hospital and Victoria General Hospital for clinical care activities.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Eligible for registration as a Clinical Assistant or Physician Assistant with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
- Evidence of excellent communication skills in English (oral, written and listening)
- Organization and problem-solving skills
- Must hold a satisfactory employment record
- Must be able to legally work in Canada
Asset:
- Experience in dealing with complex medical patients and with cancer patients
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with ARIA
- Current CPR Certification
- Ability to speak French
