Experience
- Previous related office experience required, preferably in a Health Record environment and dealing with disclosure and access of personal health information.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
- Successful completion of a recognized Health Information Technologist program preferred.
- A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Typing/keyboarding skills (minimum 30 wpm) and medical terminology required (Pan Am test pass 75%).

Qualifications and Skills
- Alpha-numeric recognition aptitude required.
- Operational knowledge of computer terminals preferred.
- Good command of English (oral and written) and good interpersonal communication skills required.
- Neat, legible penmanship required.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged physical activities include; walking, stair climbing, standing, sitting, bending, and lifting approximately 25-40 lbs.
- Work environment consists of frequent interruptions and no natural light.
- Manual dexterity.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
