Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Patient Services Radiation Therapy, the incumbent is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the School of Radiation Therapy. This involves determining education and training needs for students and staff as well as ensuring ongoing compliance with accreditation requirements.
The incumbent develops/coordinates professional development and competency training initiatives directed at Radiation Therapy, as well as corporate training for the entire Radiation Oncology Program.
The incumbent works collaboratively and cooperatively with all staff, other departments, external agencies and vendors. The incumbent must be capable of carrying out all duties with diplomacy, tact, confidentiality and professionalism.
Responsibilities include developing materials and resources for students and staff, collaborating with healthcare professionals, managing projects, and staying up-to-date on the latest research and trends in RT education. This position works in close collaboration with other staff, as well as other departments at CancerCare Manitoba to set education priorities for our students and RT staff.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor of Health Sciences in RT or equivalent
- Certificate in Adult Education.
- Master level in Education or RT preferred
Experience
- 5 years of experience working in Radiation Therapy
- 3 years of experience organizing, coordinating and leading education and training programs
- 2 years of experience developing, implementing, and evaluating education strategies and activities
An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills in English (both oral and writing).
- Experience managing projects with multi-disciplinary internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated. Ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to accuracy and detail strong computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)
- Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships.
Required Licenses, Registrations, Designations
- Member of Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment and able to lift and carry items
Other
- Must have satisfactory employment record
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
- Ability to speak French is considered an asset
