Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
The Provincial Travel Team (PTT) provides staff in Manitoba with opportunities for flexible work in different regions, communities and facilities to support diverse areas and specialties. Staff may identify a list of their preferred health region(s), facility(ies), and work location/specialty area(s) to enhance their skills and scope of practice. PTT partners with Service Delivery Organizations (SDOs) to provide staffing resources to support provincial health care service delivery, reduce the reliance on external contracted resources, recruiting and retaining staff within and to Manitoba.
Main Function
- Oversees and delivers a centralized provincial scheduling support and associated services for the PTT, including travel expense claims and timekeeping activities.
- Leads and coordinates operational functions of scheduling and associated services within a provincial environment promoting effective and collaborative integration of PTT services.
- Develops standard work and processes partnering with SDOs for efficient scheduling of PTT staff throughout the province maximizing the number of shifts PTT is able to fill, while ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Supports the PTT by overseeing the scheduling of PTT staff in their daily duties to safely and sustainably cover 24-hour-a-day and 7-day-a-week work requirements supporting the needs of SDOs.
- Works closely with PTT Management to connect staff with flexible work opportunities in different regions, communities and facilities to support diverse areas and specialties considering staff preferences in work location/specialty preferences and ongoing development.

Experience
- 3 years of experience working with complex scheduling rotations, timekeeping and/or payroll systems (e.g. ESP, SAP, QHR) required.
- 3 years of experience providing shift scheduling support including applying and working within the guidelines of collective bargaining agreement(s) required.
- 2 years of supervisory/leadership management experience required.
- 2 years of administrative experience working within an office setting.
- 2 years of system administrator experience.
- Previous experience in health-care planning and delivery is an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Post-secondary certificate in business administration, office management, or payroll administration from an accredited education institution is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

- Demonstrated front-line leadership capabilities. The provincial health system has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg.
- Incumbent demonstrates ability to prioritize work, deal with interruptions, re-prioritize as required and ensure dedicated/focused time for strategic planning.
- Travel to other health care facilities within the SDO will be required.
- A valid Class 5 Manitoba driver’s license and access to a personal motor vehicle are required.
