Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

Shared Health is transforming the provincial healthcare system to improve patient care and support strategic alignment by leading coordinated planning and integration of patient-centred health services.

The Provincial ER/UC Program Administration Director provides operational leadership including physician engagement across the province, physician staffing for ED/UC sites across the health system, physician workforce development and analytics, recruitment and retention of ED/UC physicians, and performance reporting related to ED/UC physicians across six regions.

Development and execution of a staffing plan for physicians and other relevant roles (e.g. Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Assistant, Physician Assistant) that supports the provincial ED/UC program. The role works closely with the Provincial Clinical Team, Provincial HHR including Planning and Labour Relations, Finance, and the Provincial Service Delivery Organizations.

The Provincial ED/UC Program Administration Director operates within an environment of limited fiscal resources combined with an increasing demand for healthcare services. The Provincial ED/UC Program Administration Director, together with the other Program Team members, is expected to plan and establish priorities amongst competing demands for resources.

 

Main Function:
The Provincial ED/UC Program Administration Director works with the Provincial Emergency Program by providing operational administrative leadership in alignment with HHR workforce planning and the Provincial Clinical Teams to support ED/UC sites across the province.

Experience

  • 7+ years related experience in progressively responsible positions preferably in health administration.
  • Must possess extensive leadership and stakeholder engagement skills and experience.
  • Must possess significant experience in business, financial, project and human resources management including recruitment and retention.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Post-secondary degree in health administration, business administration, finance, or related field.
  • Additional training in workforce analytics, project management, health system planning or finance/accounting is an asset.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
    Valid Manitoba driver’s license and access to a personal motor vehicle.

Physical Requirements

  • May be required to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings.
