Under the general direction of Director of Care and Assistant Director of Care, the incumbent is responsible for providing quality physiotherapy services including consultation, resident assessment, physiotherapy diagnosis, planning, intervention implementation and evaluation, program planning, implementation, and follow-up to maintain optimal function, prevent disability and promote well-being.

 

EDUCATION / LICENSES & REGISTRATION

 

  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in physiotherapy from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated required.
  • Must be registered on the Practicing Roster of the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba
  • Membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE

 

  • Recent and relevant clinical experience preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE

 

  • Knowledge of principles of physiotherapy
  • Knowledge of relevant Workplace Safety and Health responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proper lifting and heavy handling techniques

 

SKILLS

 

  • General knowledge of the regulations and scope of practice documents that guide the practice of Physiotherapy and relevant support workers such as Rehabilitation Assistants.
  • Practices confidentiality
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Have a good understanding and ability to work closely with Rehabilitation Services
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload
  • Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to function in a computerized environment
