Responsible to:                      Community Development Coordinator

Term:                                        April 1, 2026 – September 30, 2026

Salary:                                     $26.4 - $30.5 per hour

Union:                                      CUPE

Hours of Work:                      Each shift is 3 hours 45 minutes

  • Mon: 2:15 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Tue: 2:15 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Wed: 3:15 PM – 7:00 PM
  • Thu: 2:15 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Fri: 2:15 PM – 6:00 PM

 

Position Summary:

The Peer Navigator is often the first point of contact for youth accessing services at Huddle NorWest, Notre Dame. This role supports youth by providing intake assistance, resource navigation, and peer-based support related to mental health and addictions. The Peer Navigator helps connect youth to appropriate services within the Hub and in the community while contributing to a welcoming and supportive environment.

 

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years eexperience working with adolescents or young adults, preferably in a health or community setting.
  • Knowledge of youth community resources and service navigation.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and backgrounds.
  • Strong communication skills with a friendly, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (Accuro) and data collection is an asset.
  • Completing peer support training or equivalent experience is an asset.

 

Education:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as psychology or social services
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered

 

 Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of PHIA and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Satisfactory criminal record and abuse registry checks required.
