Job Summary:

 

Under the general direction of the Director of Quality & Patient Safety, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting in effective and efficient operations within the Quality & Patient Safety portfolio. The role will include management of the Quality & Patient Safety team office. This includes providing administrative support to the Director and the Quality & Patient Safety Program and preparing documentation and various publications.

 

 

Qualifications:

Required

  • Successful completion of a recognized Administrative Training Program or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, as determined by CancerCare Manitoba
  • 3 years' related experience supporting an intermediate senior-level level leader
  • Ability to work independently, interfacing with highly skilled professionals in a team environment provide leadership in work activities
  • Typing speed of at least 50 wpm
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications in an office environment (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Must have satisfactory employment record
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

Will be assessed during the interview process:

  • Excellent interpersonal and written/ oral communication skills
  • Exceptional time management, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines

Preferred:

  • College or undergraduate education in business or a related field
  • Related experience in a complex healthcare or academic environment

Asset:

  • Formal training and/ or experience as a legal administrative assistant or paralegal
  • Ability to speak French
