Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, Medicine, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Respiratory Nurse Clinician works within the Medicine Program to maintain and improve the quality of care to patients requiring specialized respiratory support through clinical practice, education and research; and by performing other related duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years related clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated clinical and teaching expertise.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Baccalaureate of Nursing preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of community agencies and programs.
  • Post-basic course in advanced assessment and nursing skills required (e.g. ICU Program).

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • CRNM registration required.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated assessment, interviewing, counselling and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt readily to changing demands and situations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Previous experience in an expanded nursing role an asset.
