Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services and in collaboration with the Site Lead of Endocrinology and Metabolism, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the ENDOCRINE NURSE CLINICIAN is responsible for: providing quality nursing care to patients with endocrine and metabolic disturbances, through clinical practice, consultation, education, research and community services; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Experience
- Minimum five(5) years related clinical experience required.
- One (1) year educational and clinical diabetes experience preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Baccalaureate of Nursing preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Current C.R.N.M registration required.
- Certification as a Diabetes Educator (CDE) preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated organizational and planning abilities.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated clinical and teaching expertise.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt readily to changing demands and situations.
- Previous experience in an expanded nursing role an asset.
