Position Overview
The Education Facilitator provides leadership in clinical education and professional development to support continuous learning. The role functions as an educational resource for staff; facilitates and evaluates learning processes and outcomes; plans and coordinates orientation programs. The Education Facilitator participates in educational activities within the Long-Term Care, Transitional Care, Focus on Falls Program and across Misericordia Health Centre, and performs other related duties as assigned in support of organizational goals and evolving practice needs.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in Long Term Care, Transitional Care, Focus on Falls or a related clinical area preferred.
- Experience in clinical education, staff development, or professional practice support preferred.
- Experience in facilitating adult learning, including in services, workshops, and competency based education preferred.
- Experience in planning, coordinating, and evaluating orientation programs, including preceptorship and mentorship preferred.
- Experience in collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support practice change, quality improvement, or patient safety initiatives preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required.
- Master’s degree in Nursing or in the relevant clinical specialty preferred.
- Certificate in Adult Education preferred.
- ACLS level is preferred and will be provided by the employer. Must be acquired within one year of start of employment.
- Level 2 Wound Care Course required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
- Active participation in professional associations (e.g., Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM)) preferred.
- BLS Instructor certificate required.
