Pensionable Salary Enhancement - Nurses in eligible classifications may be eligible to earn an additional $5.95/hour when working full-time hours within a prescribed six-month reporting period. (Effective April 1, 2025 – March 31st 2027.)

 

Position Overview

Functions under the provision of the Registered Nurses Act, the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of Seven Oaks General Hospital and in accordance with the framework of the CRNM Entry Level Competencies. Utilizes the Nursing Process to deliver professional nursing care to patients as assigned by the Director, Health Services/Manager Health Services or delegate. Coordinates the efforts of other health team members needed to accomplish the expected outcome as formulated in the plan of care.

Experience

  • Three (3) years recent nursing experience in acute care geriatric medicine and/or geriatric rehab and/or geriatric nursing in a community setting required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.
  • Current Basic Life Support.
  • CNA Certification in an applicable specialty an asset.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) required.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the applicable policy.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of common software including email, internet and word processing applications required. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated effective organizational, interpersonal, critical thinking/problem-solving, leadership and decision-making skills in response to a variety of simultaneous demands required.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence required.
  • Demonstrated teaching ability required.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and pursue self-development opportunities required.

  • Mental and physical health to meet the demands of the position.

 

 

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
