Pensionable Salary Enhancement - Nurses in eligible classifications may be eligible to earn an additional $5.95/hour when working full-time hours within a prescribed six-month reporting period. (Effective April 1, 2025 – March 31st 2027.)
Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Program Team Manager, Rehabilitation Services and Geriatrics, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Geriatric Day Hospital Nurse is responsible for: providing quality nursing care for the geriatric patient population in the day hospital and community settings (including home visits); and performing other related duties as assigned.
Experience
- Two (2) years recent nursing experience in an acute care geriatric medicine and/or geriatric nursing in a community setting required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Certificate in Gerontology is preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Current CRNM registration required.
- Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of common software including e-mail, internet and word processing applications required.
- Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
