The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
The Shared Health Breast Health Centre is seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Registered Nurse to join the Breast Health Centre team as a Clinic Nurse, with some referral assessment and triage nursing responsibilities. Reporting to the Program Director, in compliance with CRNM standards of nursing practice, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the nursing care of well women at risk, women with benign and malignant disease, their families and the community. The RN assesses patients and families physical, psychosocial, and spiritual responses to the disease process and/or treatment and provides nursing interventions that include physical care to manage disease and treatment related symptoms; assists with diagnostic procedures; provides education and psychosocial support to encourage active participation in decision making and self-care. The RN works in a team environment to foster an atmosphere of respect and caring. The RN practices within a primary nursing model, providing patient-centered care for patients and their families through direct comprehensive care, supportive care, collaborative practice and evidenced-based practice.
Experience
- Clinical experience in oncology and surgery, women’s health would be an asset.
- Experience in patient education.
- Computer knowledge and experience with EMR (Aria preferred).
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
- Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
