Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
An inventory control specialist is responsible for developing systems that manage inventory. They make sure stock remains at a healthy level-based on demand and work with the logistics team to fulfill orders and transfers. Inventory Control Specialist may also handle audits, need to produce reports to account for any inventory changes and communicate with vendors and clients.
Under the general supervision of the Department Manager the incumbent will coordinate activities and tasks related to the Central Distribution Centre (CDC), the Inventory Management Storage Locations (SLoc), and the Intermediary Inventory Locations (IIL) including:
- Manage Warehouse/SLoc Stock Levels.
- SAP Data Maintenance.
- Monthly/Year End Closure.
- Special Order Maintenance including free texts, winter road orders, UOM orders and Manitoba renal orders.
- Reports as Required.
- Identify and communicate SAP issues and work with sustainment to resolved.
- Warehouse Support.
- Customer Service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Minimum four (4) years’ experience in a Material Management/Purchasing related position.
- Minimum two (2) years' experience or training in a computerized purchasing/inventory control environment.
- Previous experience in system implementation desirable.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards.
- Degree, diploma or certificate in a related discipline (i.e., Business Administration, Computer Sciences, etc.) required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

- Microsoft Office proficiency required.
- SAP knowledge preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze, organize and document procedural routines.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work under fast-paced conditions while working to scheduled deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
